Felitrot Privacy Policy

PanMarie Studio ("we," "us," or "our") built the iOS walking app Felitrot ("the app") with the privacy of everyone who uses it as our highest priority. This policy explains, in plain language, how the app handles information about you.

Our Approach

The app never asks for information that could identify you personally (name, email address, phone number, or account details). Your health and activity data (steps, distance, weight) are handled only on your device and are never sent to our servers or any third party (for how your own iCloud backup treats this data, see "Data Stored on Your Device"). Your location is also handled on your device, except that the app communicates with Apple's Maps service when displaying the map and when looking up the name of a city you visited (see "Walking Routes and Visited Places (GPS)"). The only communication the app performs—to improve the app and to deliver news—is limited to forms that cannot identify you personally (see the sections below for details).

Information We Collect

The app exchanges only four kinds of information with the outside: (1) anonymous usage statistics and crash information used to improve the app (see "Advertising and Analytics"), (2) a technical identifier used to deliver news notifications (see "Notifications"), and (3) if you turn on "Walk route", communication with Apple's Maps service — the coordinates sent to look up the names of the cities you visited, and the map region needed to display the route and world-map screens (see "Walking Routes and Visited Places (GPS)"), and (4) ordinary web requests that download additional content (such as new coaches and stories) from our content-delivery servers — your device only receives content, and no data is collected from your device (as with any web request, the delivery network provider technically processes the IP address). The first two never include personally identifying information, health data, or your device's location data (GPS). We do not track your behavior in a way that is linked to you, and we do not collect advertising identifiers.

Health and Step Data

To show you a record of your walks, the app uses step counts and distance measured by your device's motion sensors. To show how your weight changes on the Records screen, the app may also read your weight from Health (HealthKit). This health and activity data is read only on your device and used only to display your progress on screen. It is never sent to us or to any outside destination, and it is never used for advertising or sales. You can grant or turn off access to Health at any time from your device's Settings.

When you complete a walking session (or end one partway), the App also saves that record (workout type, start/end times, and — if you have allowed it — the distance walked) to Health as a new "Workout" entry. This saving likewise happens only on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. If you prefer not to save workouts, you can turn off Health write access at any time in your device settings. You can allow or stop Health access (both reading and writing) at any time from your device's settings.

Walking Routes and Visited Places (GPS)

Your walking routes are recorded only if you explicitly turn on "Walk route" in Settings. When it is on, the app uses your location during walking sessions to save your routes and the places you visit (country and city names) on your device, where they appear on the map screens. While a walk is being recorded, location collection continues even when the screen is off or you are using another app (iOS shows its standard indicator at the top of the screen while this happens); it stops when the walk ends, and the app never collects your location outside of a walk. Your recorded routes are never sent to our servers or any third party (they may be included in your own iCloud backup — see "Data Stored on Your Device"). When the app looks up the name of a city you visited, the coordinates of that spot are sent to Apple's Maps service (reverse geocoding); they are used solely for that lookup and are never stored linked to your identity. The route and world-map screens also use Apple's standard maps, so the map region being displayed is sent to Apple (subject to Apple's Maps privacy practices). Your location information is never used for advertising or sales. Turn the setting off to stop further recording; deleting the app deletes all recorded routes and places. If you yourself turn on the place name or the route line in the share card and share the image, the information you chose to include in that image is passed to whoever you share it with (both options are off by default).

Data Stored on Your Device

Your walking records and app settings are saved on your device. Depending on your own iCloud settings, this data may be included in your iCloud backup. iCloud backup is a service provided by Apple and remains under the control of your own Apple account, and we have no way to see its contents.

Notifications

The app uses two kinds of notifications. The first is the switch signal during your walk: a local notification that is created entirely on your device and sends nothing to any server. The second is news about new coaches and features, delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging. To deliver it, a technical identifier (push token) is handled on Google's servers, but it is never linked to your name, health data, or location. You can turn news notifications off anytime in the app's Settings, and you can change notification permission itself anytime in your device Settings.

Advertising and Analytics

The app shows no ads of any kind. To improve the app, we collect anonymous usage statistics (such as which features are used) and technical crash information through Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These never include your name, your nickname, your health data (steps, distance, weight), or your device's location (GPS). We never use the collected information for advertising or sales.

In addition to the above, the following technical information is processed on Google's servers as part of this mechanism: (1) an identifier generated automatically for each installation of the app (never linked to your name or identity); (2) technical details such as your device model, OS version, and language; (3) automatic usage events such as app launches and screen views; and (4) a rough region (roughly country or city level) derived from the IP address used during transmission (the IP address itself is not stored).

Collection begins only after you agree to the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy on first launch. Even after agreeing, you can stop collection at any time with the "Usage & Crash Reports" switch in the app's Settings (stopping crash reports takes effect the next time you launch the app).

Retention periods are as follows. Technical crash information is kept for 90 days, after which the deletion process begins. User-level usage statistics are kept for up to 14 months. Technical identifiers are completely deleted, including backups, within 180 days after a deletion request is processed. Running "Erase everything and start over" in the app resets the on-device statistics identifier, disconnecting it from previous records, and also requests deletion of the Firebase installation identifier (a technical identifier used for things like notification delivery) from Google (completely deleted within 180 days, as described above).

Sale and Sharing of Data

We never sell or share information about you with third parties — indeed, we collect no personally identifying information. Apple (city-name lookups), Google (usage statistics, crash information, and notification delivery), and Telegram (delivery of contact-form messages) each process information on our behalf; this is processing entrusted to service providers and is not "selling" or "sharing" in this sense. These providers handle data under their own published privacy policies. We do not engage in what the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) defines as "selling" or "sharing" personal information.

Deleting Your Data

All App data (walking records and settings) lives only on your device. Deleting the App from your device deletes this data with it. Workout records saved to Health can be deleted individually at any time in the Health app.

Children's Privacy

The App is not primarily directed at children and is intended for use by adults. Whoever uses it, and at whatever age, our policy of collecting no personal information remains the same.

This Website

Our official website (felitrot.panmarie.com) uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. It collects information such as the pages you view, the referring site, your approximate region, and your browser type, in a form that does not identify you personally. This uses cookies (small records stored in your browser). The collected information is handled under Google's privacy policy, and you can disable cookies in your browser settings. This applies to the website only and is not used inside the app.

Changes to This Policy

As we add features to the app, we may update this policy from time to time. When an important change is made, we will let you know within the app or on the page where this policy is posted.

How this website handles information

Information you enter in the contact form on this website (felitrot.panmarie.com) — your name, email address, and message — is used only to respond to your inquiry.

The information collected when you sign up for update news is limited to your email address, the language of the page at sign-up, and a code corresponding to the country you connect from; the studio does not store your IP address or other connection data. It is used only to send you email about major updates to the app, and is not shared with third parties except as required by law.

This information is stored and processed on the servers of a cloud service the studio uses (Cloudflare, Inc., United States).
